Absentee voting recently started in South Dakota, ahead of November's general election, but the voter registration deadline hits in less than a month.

The measure would prohibit the state "from collecting sales or use tax on anything sold for human consumption."

A stricter ballot initiation process, more state investments, the elimination of property tax and legalizing recreational marijuana are some of the major changes confronting voters this November.
