Doctors suspected a “bug” was causing deaths and collapses on the ward where Lucy Letby worked, an inquiry heard. Dr Elizabeth Newby, who worked on the neonatal unit at the Countess of Chester hospital, said she was worried there may have been a “bug” on the ward, or contaminated equipment causing the deaths and collapses of infants.
